Nice to Meet You

Welcome friends! My only goal really is to share what I enjoy, what makes me tick, the things that work for my growing family, and hope to meet others so that we can inspire each other. I share quotes and inspiration, color schemes, and lovely things…really as they fit my life at the time.

As for me…I’m a mother to Addison my 3 year old girlie girl, she is just the sunshine in my life. Most of what I do is based around her and making her world fabulous.

My little Chihuahua Pennelope is 6 years old and only 3 lbs. on a heavier day. We love her so much and she will always be our baby dog.

I work from home to be with my girls…It’s really the most important thing to me, making memories and enjoying our time together.

My kind-of new husband and I were just married in July (July 4th 2010!!) and that consumed pretty much my whole last year.  We have been together since I was a senior in high school and he was just 20…time flies and our love grows and grows with our little family. We still can’t believe that our one year wedding anniversary will be 11 years together! How blessed we have been to have found each so early on…we really have grown into adults together.

I’m sort of crafty. Doing this and that. I love design (especially child spaces) and create a lot of things for that. I crochet a little, I love graphic design and typography…always working to improve my skills there. I love photography and always have a camera in hand and am continuously learning so that I can capture all of our memories beautifully. What else? Oh! My best friend is getting married and I will definitely be sharing all of my projects with you! Weddings are so whimsical…love everything about weddings…just can’t wait to celebrate with her.

So whats in the name “Waking up in Vegas”? Well, first I live in Vegas, (actually Henderson),  a few short minutes from the “strip”. Second, I love the song by Katy Perry and it sort of fits my life right now. Not so much the partying and whatnot but the fact that I’m not really sure how we ended up here. It wasn’t a goal….so what gives? Well,  my husbands parents are here and have really helped us out, getting our family situated. So there was a purpose to the move but in hindsight you need to love the city as much as the family that live there. Two people that you love will not make you feel shiny and happy in a city that looks a little crummy to you. So we moved from San Francisco (the city that I love) to Vegas (could you find a more polar opposite?) and now I am working on a way to get back!! It sounds as if I hate Vegas. Not true. I just want Vegas to look like the glitter filled town with celebrations,  cocktails, sunburns, and friends. I want it to look how it does to most of you.
