I’m not sure how I found Ree and her blog The Pioneer Woman, but I love her! She is hi-la-ri-ous! She tells it like it is…and you literally feel like your sitting there with her having a chat over fried chicken. I find her kind of fascinating…any woman that lives out in the country, homeschools her children, and can bake Devil Dogs (below)…gets the “freaking awesome woman of the year award” from me!
Devil Dogs | The Pioneer Woman
I tried making these…keyword “tried”. I’m very sad to say that not only did I use the wrong size pan and the cake turned out too thin (so it was like soggy cookie…blah), but I couldn’t get the whipped creamy frosting to get fluffy. So it looked more like sugary white soupy goo. I was so embarrassed with the way that they turned out that I didn’t even take a picture of the end result! Trying them again this weekend…wish me luck. This time even if they don’t turn out, I’ll share the pictures…good, bad, or squishy.
Visit Ree the Pioneer Woman and see if you can master some of her yummy country style recipes, she has a cinnimon roll recipe that looks killer good.
XO,
