My husband is a good, good man. He knows me so well and pretends not to care most of the year…but then when it counts, (Mother’s Day), he whips out the big guns. Not only do I LOVE chocolate, but I equally LOVE peanut butter. Well, this good, good man of mine went to the best cupcakery in town and bought me a dozen cupcakes. Some were chocolate with chocolate frosting, some were red velvet, some were chocolate with pink frosting (Addison picked those…who’s have guessed). But, in the mix were the Chocolate with Peanut Butter Frosting! YES, Peanut Butter Frosting! That’s like something from my dreams. Easily the best cupcake I ever had.

The Royal Wedding | What a Sweet Moment

I have to admit…I was a little disgruntled about the Royal Wedding. Thinking…ugh, is it over already. It was so overplayed with the media that it seemed like I couldn’t go 10 minutes without hearing about it. BUT then the day comes and it really is beautiful…and the true meaning comes out. Not what she wore, or who was there (or wasn’t there!). Two people vowing to share their lives. The sweetest moment was when the new married couple and all the little ones in the wedding party went on to the balcony and looked up to the heavens in honor of his mother, Princess Diana.

You can almost see the love shining down on them.

I also love that the little flower girl is so innocently covering her ears there in the bottom left! Adorbs.

Inspiration | Pink Loveliness

Spring is in the air! Welll…in most places. I think we skipped it and went straight to summer here. My favorite spring color is pink and I thought I’d share some of my very favorite photographic prints in pink…of course!

I love all of these ladies and the vintagey feel of their images. I could frame all of them and surround myself in faux spring.

With all of the pretty pink we were inspired to paint Addie’s nails like this:

And to make a pink hair flower like this:

And drink a pink strawberry cream ice drink like this:

And watermelon and bare feet are sure signs of spring…

I SPY: My Neighborhood

It’s almost 90 degrees in Vegas so we’ve been out enjoying the sunshine.

First to pick up Boo from her Spring Party at preschool.

Then a walk to the lake…

to feed the ducks. Miss Boo is so happy that they’re back for summer.

This picture makes the ducks look scary! They’re actually coots or something…

but we just call them ducks! Doesn’t it look like it’s going to attack us?!

Ready to head home…Boo has to pee.

We love our stroller cause we can listen to country together…it’s fabulous.

What’s in Your Phone? | Camera Phone Pics

You know all those special little moments…you may not be doing anything extraordinary and then bam…something super cute or awesome happens. And you don’t have you’re camera! I’m the queen of not charging the battery (darn), or no memory left in the card (ugh), or just left the stupid thing sitting on the counter where I left it so I wouldn’t forget it (seriously!). For these reasons I’m so thankful for the camera phone. I have the iPhone 4 and have been playing around with the camera apps. Here is my absolute favorite so far of Miss Boo.

I love this pic because:

1. Her lips are so kissy face (she’s being a mama dinosaur talking to her baby dinosaur).

2. The bright yellow bloom tucked behind her ear <3

3. Check out her totally expressive eye brows!

4. I miss that green polka dot dress (given by Auntie Candi…xo)

5. She looks natural and not posed…I really need to try to stop saying CHHHHEEEESE all the time.

6. Love the softness of the image.

I took this one with Hipstamatic. Love playing around with it…you have different lens choices and film types to give you different border and color effects. Happy 31st to You Babe!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful, supportive, hilarious, and loving husband. Today you are 31…seems surreal! We are now the old people that we used to scoff at when we first started dating. So much about us has changed but the basic structure of our relationship is the same…we still love each other like crazy kids, stay up late and laugh and watch our shows together until one or both of us fall asleep on the couch. I still see you as the young and reckless 20 year old that I fell in love with and kissed beneath fireworks. As a father…you make me proud. Somehow it makes me feel good about myself for choosing the perfect man to be my children’s daddy. (patting myself on the back). With all of the ups and downs, the may experiences we’ve shared…I can’t wait to see what comes next and somehow growing old sounds ok as long as I’m doing it with you. I love you so very much.

Happy Thursday! The weather in Vegas is amazing and Addison and I are going to take our first walk to the lake (Lake Las Vegas) where we live. Probably have some gelato and enjoy the sunshine…hopefully get a tan on my stark white legs. It’s a pretty long walk…so the gelato is a little reward and a great bribery point to get Addie all the way down there!

AND…I’m excited because I won the giveaway at Wanderlust + Co. I never win anything…so I’m stoked! They’re a new (6 month old…to be exact) jewelry store online…so fabulous. They have eclectic pieces that are actually affordable. I’ll be getting two pieces in the mail here soon…I’ll share what I get.

Off to enjoy the day! Hope you’re enjoying some sunshine somewhere too.

High school friends. Never saw each other “that way”.

4th of July 2000 they shared a kiss beneath fireworks.

They felt fireworks. 8 years together. SF State and marketing degrees.

Graduation and a sweet daughter born. Life as they knew it was changed forever.

Never so blessed until… 4th of July 2009. A proposal (fianlly!). She said yes. July 4th 2010 life came full circle.

They were married and professed their love before their dear family and friends.

Anxiously awaiting their next little blessing.

The best has yet to come…

I always feel like my tiny donation isn’t going to do much good when things like natural disasters occur. That my measly pocket change won’t really help. When in the grand scheme of things, if each person donated even 10 bucks to help those affected by the recent events in Japan, we could help feed and shelter all that are misplaced. It helps me to put myself in their shoes…If I had just lost everything. How grateful would I be if someone thousands of miles away had paid for me to have a meal, or helped me stay warm for the night. I’m in tears thinking about what that would mean to me.
